A little bit about me
Hey, my name is Iván! I’m a Senior Product Designer with 8+ years of experience, based in Barcelona. I'm passionate about designing systems, solving real user problems, and driving business impact through thoughtful, pragmatic design.
Trained as a graphic designer and with a background in frontend development, I bring a strong technical mindset to the design process — bridging gaps between teams and delivering scalable, accessible, and maintainable solutions, without compromising on craft or detail.
I’ve worked in early-stage startups, where I learned to move quickly, take ownership, and focus on what matters most. In growth-stage companies, I’ve had the chance to refine my craft, work at scale, and communicate the impact of design across teams.
Experience
Senior Product Designer • Nov 2022 - Current
Led the design of Andela’s internal platform, Matcher Workbench, used to streamline and optimize how talent is matched with client opportunities. I partner with product, engineering, and operations teams to design scalable, user-centered tools — often exploring how AI can improve decision-making and enhance internal workflows.
Key Contributions:
- Led end-to-end design efforts — from discovery to delivery — in close collaboration with PMs, engineers, and stakeholders.
- Reduced average recruiter time-to-match from 16 days to 7 days by streamlining candidate–role workflows and optimizing UI flows for efficiency.
- Conducted 13+ user interviews in the first 6 weeks to map user pain points and build trust with the "Matcher" team.
- Created a detailed user journey to visualize the Matcher experience and identify key friction points.
- Explored and proposed AI-driven features to support smarter, faster talent matching.
- Contributed to the design system, creating and documenting new components for consistency and scale.
- Pitched design proposals across departments, gaining alignment on strategic initiatives.
- Mentored junior designers, championing craft, clarity, and professional growth.

Contributed to the redesign of Chili Piper’s scheduling experience, collaborating cross-functionally to create a more intuitive and efficient flow for users. Helped evolve the design system and played a key role in building alignment across teams.
Key Contributions:
- Increased meeting scheduling completion rate from 68% to 88% by redesigning Chili Piper’s booking flow and streamlining key UI interactions.
- Collaborated with PMs, engineers, and stakeholders to design and deliver an improved meeting scheduling experience.

- Contributed to the design system, including the creation and documentation of iconography guidelines.
